The Men's Skeleton Watch from Smith Watches is a 42 mm automatic mechanical timepiece with an open-heart dial that exposes the moving balance wheel, a moon phase complication at 6 o'clock, and a rose gold stainless steel case on a genuine leather strap. Self-winding movement, 3 ATM water-resistant, 2-year warranty.
What is a skeleton watch?
A skeleton watch is a mechanical watch with part of its dial cut away so the wearer can see the movement working through the front of the case. Our skeleton dial keeps hour markers and hands readable while opening up the centre to reveal the oscillating balance wheel and the moon phase disc.
How does the moon phase complication work?
The moon phase is a small sub-dial that tracks the 29.5-day lunar cycle. A slowly rotating disc moves behind two cut-outs so the correct shape of the moon is shown each day. Set once and corrected about once a year.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to wind this watch every day?
No. It is an automatic watch, wound by wrist motion. If worn daily it stays running. If it sits for more than about 40 hours, restart it by shaking or by turning the crown 20–30 times in the wind position.
How accurate is the automatic movement?
Mechanical automatic movements typically run within -20 to +40 seconds per day. This is normal for any mechanical watch, including far more expensive pieces.
Is the rose gold real gold?
The case is 316L stainless steel with a rose gold PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating. It has the full colour and finish of rose gold with better scratch resistance. No solid gold is claimed.
Can I swim or shower with this watch?
No. 3 ATM water resistance is for splashes, hand-washing, and light rain only. Do not shower, swim, or dive with this watch. Leather straps should not be submerged.
Will it fit my wrist?
The 42 mm case with 22 mm lug width suits wrist circumferences from about 6.5" (16.5 cm) to 8.5" (21.5 cm). If you wear watches between 40 mm and 44 mm, this sits comfortably.
